Police in Kakamega have arrested a man after he beat to death his wife following an early Tuesday argument.
The man from Mwibubi village is said to have descended on his wife after a domestic quarrel.
Neighbours say the couple started quarreling after the woman slowly started neglecting her duties and spending most of her time drinking alcohol.
The couple, according to the neighbours, has had a prolonged history or quarrels and the man has beaten up the wife on several occasions.
Upon realizing that the wife was in critical condition after beating her, the man called one of his aunts to give her porridge.
After drinking the porridge, the woman vomited with some blood clots being easily visible in the vomit.
She also suffered some breathing difficulties and was rushed to Kakamega Referral Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
