A 15-year-old pregnant girl is currently being held at Mlolongo police station waiting to appear in court to face murder charges. The suspect, Alice Muthoni was arrested on Sunday, August 21 at their house in Ngwata estate, Mlolongo after neighbours discovered the deceased.

Witnesses say they heard a loud scream at around 5pm after Kamau Njoroge, a bodaboda operator entered the house.

They found Kamau lying on the floor with a knife stuck in his chest where he succumbed to the stab. The girl, reportedly a form two dropout was living with the deceased as his wife. Area chief David Kilonzo said the deceased colleagues became angry and attempted to lynch the girl, who locked herself i the house until police arrived. Athi River OCPD Sharma Wario confirmed the incident saying the deceased was heard screaming during the incident. “Kamau came to the house at around 5pm and was shortly after heard screaming for help, those who rushed to his house found him lying on the floor with a knife stuck in his chest,” he said. The OCPD also said the police had to lob teargas to disperse the angry boda-boda operators baying for the girl’s blood. “When we got to the scene, angry bodabodas had already surrounded the house threatening to beat her up. My officers were forced to use force to save the girl,” said Wario.
