Four General Service Unit officers died as three others seriously injured today evening when a car they were traveling in was involved in a fatal road accident at Kaptimbor along Kabarnet, Iten road.
Eye witnesses said that the police land-cruiser was speeding as it was taking a sharp bend due to alleged breaks failure and wet road as it was raining.
The car rolled severally and two General Service Unit(GSU) officers died on the spot and the injured rushed to Baringo County Referral Hospital for emergency before being transferred to Eldoret for further specialized treatment.
Residents called on the government to erect bumps and road signs along the sections to avoid further incidences in future.
The residents and leaders said it was unfortunate that the area had become a black spot as the sharp bends have led to accidents.
It is said the GSU vehicle was heading Rimoi, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
