Former President Mwai Kibaki attends Sunday service after undergoing operation

Retired President Mwai Kibaki made his first public appearance on Sunday, September 25th after undergoing a surgery in South Africa.

In the recent past, the whereabouts of the former Head of State, who quietly came back to the country two weeks ago, has been subject for public debate with many wondering whether the man is well.

Kibaki went for a minor procedure in a South African Hospital but given his self~effacing nature and loathing of vain display, he took the whole operation and healing moment in his signature silence.

But the man who appeared at Consolata Shrine in Westlands on Sunday looked healthier than Kenyans last saw him in public and seemingly ready to take on the tasks before him, the most visible in recent days being UNESCO’s Special Envoy for Water.
