'Ruto Plans to Kill me' Tweet, Lands Boniface Mwangi in Trouble

Human rights activist Boniface Mwangi has landed in serious trouble with Deputy President William Ruto after viral tweets he posted seemingly accusing him of murder, corruption and land grabbing.

The DP’s lawyers have written to Mr Mwangi demanding for an apology within seven days failure to which legal action will be taken against him.

In a letter by Kilukumi and Company Advocates, Mr Ruto said that the outspoken activist had defamed him in his social media posts which have since attracted masses.

“Our instructions are that this tweet is false and malicious. The words in their ordinary and plain meaning are defamatory and they have severely injured our client’s reputation,” the lawyers noted.

“The defamatory words attracted 556 re tweets and 476 likes as of today at 9:30 am 21 hours and 42 minutes after the tweet was posted as well as numerous comments from different people who now view our client as a murderer and a thief,” the papers highlighted.

On September 28 when DP Ruto was on a live interview at K24, Mr Mwangi wrote a series of tweets accusing the DP of wanting to murder him.
