Uhuru Kenyatta’s niece pays her househelp an equivalent of what Kenyan politicians make in a month, KSh 600,000. Word on the street has it that the nanny was hired shortly after Nana Gecaga got her child with Bishop Margret Wanjiru’s son, Peter Kariuki. Kariuki is the Mathare MP. They have two children; one was born in 2013 shortly after the General Election while their second child was born in the UK in 2015.
Her marriage to Kariuki probably explains why Margret Wanjiru has grown close to the Kenyatta family since the last election. As a matter of fact, she is among 6 other contestants who are eyeing the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat in 2017. Nana’s mother, Jeni Gecaga is the daughter of Kenya’s first president, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
