Ms Muli has reportedly filed to divorce her husband Moses Njuguna Kanene whom she married in 2009 in a glamorous wedding ceremony.
According to a report by the Nairobian newspaper, the affidavit papers by Muli accuses Mr Kanene of being adulterous, having cheated on her with several women before deserting her.
The papers which were presented at the Chief Magistrate’s court at Milimani in Nairobi on January 7, 2016, highlight that Mr Kanene has “unpredictable moods, ungovernable temper and violent in nature,”
The prime time news anchor claims that Mr Kanene had failed to undertake his responsibilities as a husband or as a father.
“The petitioner (Lilian Muli) humbly prays that a) the marriage with the respondent (Mr Kanene) be hereby dissolved, b) that the costs of this petition be paid by the respondent (Mr Kanene),” the local daily quotes the affidavit.
According to the report, however, Mr Kanene dismissed the existence of the affidavit noting that he had not been served with any papers.
The couple has been married for seven years but Muli had stopped using the name Kanene during her news presentation.
The two have a six-year-old son.
