Update 10th October 2017: Days after Udaku KE posted this story, now Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka has officially withdrawn from the fresh October 2017 elections.

Senate Majority Leader Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has revealed Opposition Leader Raila Odinga’s plan to quit the Presidential race at the last minute to avoid repeat election.

Dennis Itumbi also noted:

NEW EXCUSE ALERT
The Nation…
“On Sunday, Mr Odinga observed that “the campaign is over” because the electoral playing field is not level, after their security was withdrawn.
“How can we freely campaign when the President has withdrawn our security?” asked Mr Odinga. “A presidential candidate and his running mate are supposed to have security but President Kenyatta has withdrawn it. He has stripped us naked, and this is against the law.”

In a series of tweets, Senator Murkomen noted that Mr Odinga was planning to quit anytime from now adding that he was only examining the next caution of action before quitting.

According to Murkomen, the Opposition Leader thought that by dropping out he would create a crisis but a few cases in court are complicating matters for him.

The Senator, however, noted that with the Jubilee amendment laws, Mr Odinga had no escape route adding that “Once the Election Laws Amendment Act is finally passed it will seal all the loopholes that NASA would have use to cause the political crisis”
