Police have raided the home of prominent billionaire businessman Jimmy Wanjigi in Muthaiga estate, Nairobi. They started by raiding his Malindi house, where they found a cache of heavy weapons.

The billionaire has been accused of smuggling guns into the country with accomplices.

A contingent of officers from the Special Crimes Prevention Unit stormed Wanjigi’s Muthaiga 44 residence on Monday afternoon.

The businessman is close associate of the National Super Alliance (NASA).

NASA leaders including Siaya Senator James Orengo, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama arrived at Wanjigi’s home and were holed up inside with Wanjigi for hours.
