The family of notorious drug lord, Ali Punjani, has accused Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho, of betraying their son by “selling” him to the Americans.
According to a family member, Joho who has just returned from the United States is sharing drug trafficking information with Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
Joho and Punjani have been close buddies for decades and they have been selling drugs to innocent youths in the Coastal and Nairobi regions.
However, following the arrest of Baktash and Ibrahim Akasha in 2017, the Mombasa drug cartel lost its power and Joho and Punjani are no longer friends.
Early this week, DCI detectives raided Punjani’s home in Nyali and arrested his wife and two foreigners
Punjani was not arrested because he was in an Indian hospital recovering from a complex heart surgery
According to a statement from the Kenya Embassy in India, Punjani will be back in the country on August 26th.
