Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) customs officers on Wednesday seized gold worth Sh100 million at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

32grams of gold were found on a Tanzanian national accompanied by an invoice of $859,890 after the officers received intelligence on February 16.

The man, 46, was headed to Dubai from Mwanza via Kilimanjaro.

KRA’s Customs and Border Control took possession of the gold as investigations continue.

On February 11, a Kenya Airways employee was arrested in Mumbai, India with 23 kilograms of gold worth at least Sh100 million.
