They said that he was washed out, couldn’t win a major tournament again… he had won his last major title ELEVEN YEARS AGO!!! He battled debilitating back injuries that ravaged his body with every operation he underwent… everybody thought he was down and out… But not Tiger …he BELIEVED!!! …and today, he shut up all the haters and naysayers by winning The Masters for the 5th time…. moral of the story – as long as YOU believe, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks!!! Congratulations Tiger Woods!!!
The leaderboard packed with the best players in the world. The setting historic. The conditions dramatic. The play exceptional. And in the end, Tiger Woods won. If that wasn’t the best day in golf history it was pretty damn close. #TheMasters
Aside from lifting a rather lovely Masters Trophy- made of more than 900 separate pieces of silver – depicting the Augusta National clubhouse, and of course collecting an iconic Green Jacket, Woods will also pick up a hefty cheque of more than $2m.
The total purse is $11.5 million (£8.8m ish), and winner gets $2,070,000 which equates to about £1.58m.Not bad eh.
The Golden Bear’s six green jackets (spanning 23 years between 1963 – 1986) puts him two ahead of Arnold Palmer and, now, one of Tiger Woods.
