Details of the JKUAT student shot at State House

A fifth year Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) was shot and wounded while sneaking into State House, Nairobi, armed with a knife.

Bria Bera, a 25-year old Mechanical Engineering student had hitherto threatened to attack Uhuru at State House claiming that he had been sent by God

On June 9th he wrote on Facebook:

“To thief President Uhuru Kenyatta and his partners.”

“Tomorrow I attack State House. God has sent me to execute judgment on every thief.”

Police guarding the premise shot him on the shoulder to incapacitate him after he defied an order to surrender.

The suspect was apprehended and booked at Kilimani Police Station.

He was then rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital for treatment.

While some suspect he could be dealing with a mental disorder, he has previous addressed these concerns insisting that he is not only of sound mind but also bright student.

“Those calling me hopeless.

“Please note:

“I am a Bsc Mechanical Engineering student 5th year second semester at Jkuat. This Semester ends in July 12th.

“I worked hard in Primary school waking up at 3:00a.m to read on many days.

“I got 407 marks went to Nairobi School where I woke up at 3:00 a.m to read on many days.” He wrote in another Facebook post.

Police have launched investigations into the motive behind his actions.
