Violence erupted in Kisumu West ward on Friday, September 30, as enraged residents destroyed property in protest of alleged abduction of area MCA.
The villagers believed that Paul Odhiambo Okwiri was kidnapped they found his vehicle abandoned outside his gate with no sign of him.
It is reported that that residents stoned vehicles and torched some houses besides blocking the busy Kisumu-Busia road.
The Standard reports that police officers responded to the morning unrest.
It is not the first time that an MCA is being abducted, as colleagues from Kiambu, Nairobi, Bungoma and Nakuru briefly disappeared under unclear circumstances.
