A 85-year old woman in Migori is appealing to the government to release her from jail after she was sentenced to a six month jail term after she was found in possession of stolen goods.
The granny was charged with handling stolen goods after police and administration officers investigating the loss of plastic seats from one of the residents in the area found them at her place.
She says that the two chairs were brought to her by her sons who did not disclose to her on where they had gotten them from.
She was arrested and charged in court with handling stolen items, a charge that is treated as criminal.
She has been in jail for close to three months now.
