The NGO board on Monday de-registered the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) over misappropriation of funds.
According to the board’s Executive Director, Fazul Mahamed the organization continues to hold 4 illegal accounts: 2 at the CBA and two others at the NIC Bank.
He continued to say that the organization has failed to pay statutory taxes to the Kenya Revenue Authority amounting to 100 million.
”The commissioner general of KRA is advised to initiate the process of recovering all accrued taxes by KHRC amounting to Sh 100 million.”
Mahamed also accused the Prof. Makau Mutua chaired organization of hiring expatriates who apparently do not have valid work permits.
”The Director of Immigration should immediately deport all foreigners working at the KHRC without valid work permits,” Fazul advised.
He has asked the Central Bank to preserve all funds belonging to the organization.

The SINS of 2013 have been COMPOUNDED. That's why as a matter of my CONSCIENCE I CAN'T – and WON'T – RECOGNIZE Uhuru Kenyatta as President.
