Violet Kemunto alias Khadija has come to the limelight after it emerged that she was married to Ali Salim Gichuge, the mastermind of the Dusit terror attack.
Violet, a journalism graduate from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology where she graduated in 2015, used to live with Gichuge at an estate in Mucatha, Kiambu County.
It’s alleged that they got married last year.
She was described by her neighbours in Mucatha as a quiet person who liked to smile but rarely spoke.
On her WhatsApp profile photo, she described herself as an Al-Shabaab bride but no one took her serious until recently when her husband masterminded the Dusit attack.
There are conflicting reports on Kemunto’s whereabouts.
Some say she was arrested after police stormed their house in Mucatha while others say that she fled to Somalia hours before the Tuesday attack.
