Despite having relatively less active personnel compared to most African countries, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is the most lethal army in Africa.

For instance, major East African Countries such as Tanzania has 30,000 while Uganda has 45,000 while Kenya has 25,000 active personnel.

Ethiopia dwarfs everyone with a reported 185,000 strong military force.

However, when it comes to the arsenal and advanced weapons, Kenya has no peer.

A point in case is the FN SCAR (Special Operations Forces Combat Rifle) rife which has been rated as the most lethal assault rifle ever invented-more powerful than AK47, M4 and M16.

This gun was unveiled in 2007 and was initially made for the United States Special Operations Command.

The FN SCAR is only used in Kenya and other 19 countries in the world.

It costs a whooping Sh300k or more no wonder it is only in the hands of elite forces like the photo below showing KDF during the West Gate Mall siege.

The Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle (SCAR) is a modular rifle made by FN Herstal (FNH) for the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) to satisfy the requirements of the SCAR competition. This family of rifles consist of two main types. The SCAR-L, for “light”, is chambered in the 5.56×45mm NATO cartridge and the SCAR-H, for “heavy”, fires 7.62×51mm NATO. Both are available in Long Barrel and Close Quarters Combat variants.
