Political jostling and realignment continue to take shape in the country as Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko now says he is ready to ditch Jubilee for CORD only if the Wiper Leader Hon Kalonzo Musyoka is the presidential flag bearer for the Coalition in 2017.

The flamboyant Senator was among 19 Members of Parliament, three Senators, two deputy Governors and tens of thousands of mourners who thronged the rural home of Mavoko MP Hon. Patrick Makau in Ngelani, Machakos County during the burial of his father the late John Kang’ola yesterday.

Sonko said in 2012, he was among leaders who traversed the country with the Wiper leader campaigning for his presidential bid but fell off when “he decided not to run”.

He said time has come for the Kamba community to speak in one voice and support their leader for the presidency.

“For the sake of our community, leaders must unite, I traversed the whole country in 2012 with Hon Kalonzo, we campaigned in Kisii, in Mombasa everywhere, even now I am ready as long as he is the flag bearer of CORD” said Sonko amid chants from the crowd saying “rudi Nyumbani”

The matter of who to be the flag bearer for the CORD coalition dominated the speeches from the battery of leaders present at the ceremony.
