For the past 28 years, KQ plane Boeing 707-315B has been collecting rust at the Addis Ababa – Bole Airport.
A photo of the plane shows the the aircraft in an irredeemable state.
And yes indeed, the plane can never be redeemed. According to a report that appears on the Aviation Safety net database platform, the plane was abandoned at the airport after suffering damage beyond repair.
Apparently, the aircraft returned to Addis Ababa after its landing gear didn’t retract. The brakes failed after touchdown and the Boeing overran the wet runway.
It had a total of 66 passengers at the time, bringing its total occupants to 76.
