IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati has made changes to the staff managing the fresh presidential election. Chairman, who is the National Returning Officer, appoints a project team for the October 17th Presidential Polls

The Chairman who will also double up as the National Returning Officer has selected a new team of 6 that will oversee the poll.

Serving as the Head of ICT will be Mr Albert Gogo who replaces James Muhati who was romoured to have been sent on compulsory leave together with CEO Ezra Chiloba.

Chebukati will directly supervise the new head of ICT, Gogo.

The appointments take effect immediately and will be last for a period of 3 months.

The Chairman has vowed to conduct the election ‘in accordance with the constitution, the relevant laws snd that it reflects the sovereign will of the Kenyan people.’

Earlier reports indicated that there were changes made to the staff but the commission termed the reports as ‘fake news.’

NASA coalition had expressed lack of faith in the earlier constitution of the body, calling for its disbandment ahead of the fresh polls.

In its recommendations, the Raila Odinga led team had asked that Chiloba , Muhati and others be replaced.
