Bob Collymore’s widow, Wambui Kamiru-Collymore, gave a moving speech during Bob’s memorial service held at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi on Thursday, July 4.

Wambui, 37, revealed Bob’s admirable life philosophies, among them the need to relate well with people.

What stood out in Wambui’s speech was the advice she shared with the mourners who had congregated at the venue.

Below is part of her speech, which she christened “My Advice”:

“Never be ashamed of who you are;

“Never apologise for what you have;

“Never let people decide how you should feel about yourself;

“Be proud of yourself and your achievements;

“Believe in yourself first;

“Stand up for what you believe in;

“Speak out when you think something is not fair;

“Be considerate to those around you;

“Especially for who and what is smaller than you;

“Because a person is a person no matter how small.”

Wambui tied the knot with Bob Collymore in Naivasha in April 2016.
