In the September edition of the Centre for African Progress (CAP) monthly polls, President Uhuru Kenyatta appears to have managed to garner enough support to avoid a run-off if the country conducts an election today.
Uhuru has 50.2% while Raila has 41.6%. These numbers are not far from CAP results released last month to widespread acclaim for their realistic outlook. Last month, Centre for African Progress had Uhuru at 49% and Raila at 41.9%, results that presented the headache of a potential run-off to meet the 50%+1 Constitutional rule.
